By accessing the website located at www.talkguard.io (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”) or by downloading and using the TalkGuard mobile application for iOS‑based mobile devices and the TalkGuard mobile application for Android‑based mobile devices (collectively, the “Platform”), you acknowledge and agree that the collection, use and protection of the information we obtain about you and the services you request are governed by the terms and conditions set forth in this Privacy Policy (“Policy”). By visiting the Website, downloading the Mobile Applications or requesting to benefit from the services we offer through the Platform, you accept all provisions of this Policy.
1. Protection and Use of Information
TalkGuard employs next‑generation technologies in order to provide a secure environment for its users. Accordingly, information provided by users cannot be viewed by third parties on the Internet. In corporate procurements, persons within the same organisation (hierarchically) may view the information. In individual use, no person(s) other than the user may view any information unless the user expressly shares it.
All information we obtain about our users and members is, save for the circumstances set forth herein, kept confidential with the same degree of care that we apply to our own trade secrets. TalkGuard declares that, in order to ensure that the Platform remains operational, up‑to‑date and accessible at all times, it operates the Platform and, for the performance and transactional security of the service, stores in a cloud environment the information, IP addresses and log records shared by users, taking all known and reasonable measures. By using the Platform and sharing data therein, you accept that such data, IP addresses and log records will be processed and recorded together with country / time / date information.
These data may be accessed only by our personnel and other persons to whom we have granted permission for the sole purpose of performing the service you or the member has requested and only to the extent required for the performance of that service. Information that is already public, or that must be disclosed to competent authorities or by operation of law, may be disclosed.
Where an organisation requests that its data be stored on its own servers, the organisation acknowledges that, contrary to the provisions of this Policy, it is solely responsible for the security of its own server.
2. Sources of Information
We obtain information about you in the following three ways:
2.1. Information Provided by You
Information that you provide to us via the Website or by other means such as e‑mail or fax is received and recorded by us. Such information is provided entirely of your own free will. You are free not to provide this information; however, we recommend that you provide all requested information so that we can deliver faster, more accurate, effective and high‑quality service. Please note that, if you do not provide the mandatory information required for the service you request, your request may not be fulfilled. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. Do not provide any information that is incorrect, misleading or incomplete. Providing such information or statements may affect the validity of the service you request as well as the responsibilities or rights arising therefrom, and TalkGuard accepts no liability in such case. Should TalkGuard suffer any loss due to your provision of incorrect, misleading or incomplete information, you shall be liable to compensate such loss.
2.2. Information Provided Automatically
Information obtained through the identification system known as “cookies”, which enables our computers and operating systems to recognise you automatically during your visit to the Website based on your previous visits and the services you have received from our site. You can learn how to restrict or completely disable this feature in your computer’s “help” menu. However, as the information we obtain in this way is used to provide you with faster and higher‑quality service, we recommend that you keep this feature enabled.
2.3. Information Provided from Other Sources
In corporate agreements, additional information provided to us by the authorised representative of the company regarding the employee will be stored in the system. In this context, corporate users must contact their authorised representatives for details regarding the data to be shared.
To determine demand for the Website and our services, the sections of the Website visited by our customers are recorded. This information is used to prepare content and advertising activities tailored to our customers’ needs.
Within the scope of Law No. 6563 on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce and the Regulation on Commercial Communication and Commercial Electronic Messages, TalkGuard may send commercial electronic messages and other communications (via the channel preferred by the customer) in accordance with the relevant legislation for the purpose of announcing general / special opportunities regarding the services it provides, conducting satisfaction surveys regarding the services provided, informing customers about current developments, sending congratulatory messages, sharing contents such as presentations and bulletins, and conducting promotional, marketing and advertising activities. Users may change their communication preferences at any time or, without providing any justification, may stop such communications by following the opt‑out instructions provided in the messages they receive.
4. Location Data
TalkGuard may access your device’s approximate or precise location for the limited purposes described below.
The application does not store, save, profile, or share any location data.
4.1 Purpose of Accessing Location Data
Location access is used solely to:
- Establish and maintain secure, end-to-end encrypted communication sessions,
- Optimize server routing and connection performance,
- Perform fraud, spam and abuse prevention checks required for platform security.
- TalkGuard does not store, retain, log, or create a user profile based on your location.
- Location data is processed only momentarily on the device or within the encrypted communication session and is then discarded.
- Location data is never shared with third parties.
- You may enable or disable location permissions at any time through your device settings.
- The application will continue to function without location permissions; however, some optional features that rely on location access may be limited.
